"Many of our Earth systems are in precipitous decline, driven by climate disruption, chemical pollution, land-use change, resource depletion and biodiversity loss. Scientists warn us that we have already exceeded six of the nine planetary boundaries, meaning that key ecological systems are at high risk of collapsing or causing widespread disruption. Yet humans are nothing if not inventive and adaptive. Many technological solutions have been developed and are at various stages of deployment and scaling. In this lecture, I will highlight ten of the most promising and impactful. These innovation clusters can – and likely will – pull us back from the brink of self-destruction. Many are already having dramatic positive effects.", refers Wayne Visser, is a Fellow and Head Program Instructor at the University of Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership.
