Católica Porto Business School joined Connecting Healthcare Conference focused on the evolution of health

On June 18, Matosinhos hosted the Connecting Healthcare conference under the "Evolution" theme, bringing together various experts to delve into health-related topics. This 6th edition of the initiative, organised by Seal Group was focused on the evolution of health. 


The keynote speaker was Kailash Satyarthi, the 2014 Nobel Peace Prize laureate. He received his Nobel Prize for his work with the Bachpan Bachao Andolan (Save the Childhood Movement), which has rescued over ninety thousand children from trafficking and exploitation in India over the past forty years. Kailash Satyarthi promoted the discussion on "Globalizing Compassion for a Just and Peaceful World", highlighting the transformative power of compassion.


Católica Porto Business School joined the 6th edition of the conference, represented by Sofia Silva, a lecturer in Health Economics in the Postgraduate Programme in Health Management. She participated in the first panel on "The Evolution of Health". This debate panel, moderated by Mariana D'Orey, a journalist from Porto Canal, also included Adalberto Campos Fernandes, Professor at the National School of Public Health at the Universidade Nova de Lisboa, Ana Clara Silva, Regional Director for Integrated Public Policies and Longevity of the Madeira Government, and Kita Sallabanda Diaz, Director of the Master's Programme in Radiosurgery at the Afonso X University and advisor to the Albanian Health Minister.


The conference further discussed themes such as "The Neuroscience of Intelligence and Learning", "Digital and Human Innovation", and "Visions for Tomorrow". It was a day dedicated to the debate and analysis of the evolution of health, featuring several international and national experts, including the Pro-Rector and President of the Porto Regional Centre of Universidade Católica, Isabel Braga da Cruz.


For João Pinto, Dean of Católica Porto Business School, the health management programmes are designed to anticipate trends. He stated: "One of the priorities is to anticipate trends. Therefore, we include content such as artificial intelligence, virtual and augmented reality, new health technologies, leadership, sustainability, ethics, and governance topics.
