On May 13th, as part of the Macroeconomics course in the Bachelor's degree in Economics, the students had the opportunity to visit the facilities of Banco de Portugal in Lisbon. The visit was organised by the Department of Economics and the Board of Católica Porto Business School.

The session was opened by the Deputy Governor of Banco de Portugal, Clara Raposo. The presentation continued in partnership with Francisca Guedes de Oliveira, a Professor at Católica Porto Business School and a member of the Board of Directors of Banco de Portugal. Together, they discussed the mission of the European Central Bank, the role of Banco de Portugal within the Eurosystem, and its main functions.

The students also participated in a guided tour of the Money Museum, which covers topics such as the role of money in the world, its history over the centuries, the production of banknotes and coins, and the importance of money in the lives of Portuguese citizens.

Católica Porto Business School thanks Banco de Portugal for welcoming the students and providing them with a closer insight into topics relevant to their academic and professional future.
