Given the growing need for students to highlight differentiation factors when presenting themselves to the job market, Católica Porto Business School (CPBS) has developed the Global Education Certificate (GEC), a supplementary document to the diploma, which may be awarded to students upon completion of their degree.

CPBS is recognised for its distinguished academic excellence, providing students with all the necessary scientific, technical and practical skills for a successful career. The GEC will be an important additional differentiating factor for students entering the job market, focusing on the acquisition of global extracurricular competencies.

To obtain the certificate, students must fulfil three conditions:

  1. Completion of a minimum of 60 ECTS meeting one of the following criteria: i) ECTS completed in English; ii) ECTS completed in international mobility;
  2. Completion of at least 30 hours of volunteering work;
  3.  Be engaged in a number of extra-curricular initiatives, such as international internships, soft skills development, engagement with student clubs and associations, mentoring, organization of conferences, among others.

The GEC aims to encourage students to seek, in addition to good academic performance, an enriching experience that contributes to an ethical, responsible and global society.
