Lufthansa Ground Services Portugal (LGSP) is the newest partner of the Corporate Club of Católica Porto Business School, reinforcing the School’s connection with companies that have a strong international presence and operate in a strategic sector for mobility and the global economy.

The partnership was formalised through the signing of a protocol between the Dean of Católica Porto Business School, João Pinto, and the CEO of Lufthansa Ground Services Portugal (LGSP), Paulo Geisler. Nuno Santos, responsible for Special Projects at the company, was also present.

A subsidiary of the German Lufthansa Group, LGSP has operated in Portugal since 2011. The company runs four customer service centres: three located at Portugal’s main airports — Lisbon, Porto and Faro — and one at its head office in Porto’s financial district.

LGSP provides global remote aviation support services, with a strong focus on innovation, digital transformation and operational efficiency, positioning itself as a leading international operator in the aviation services sector.

According to João Pinto, “LGSP’s integration into the Corporate Club strengthens its international dimension and brings students, knowledge transfer centres and research programmes closer to a highly demanding sector where efficiency, innovation and responsiveness are critical.”

Paulo Geisler added that “Lufthansa Ground Services Portugal is delighted to join the Corporate Club of Católica Porto Business School, reinforcing our commitment to innovation, operational excellence and the development of highly qualified talent, while contributing to stronger links between academia and the commercial aviation sector in Portugal and internationally.”

This partnership is part of the School’s strategy to deepen the connection between academia and globally active companies, creating opportunities for direct engagement between students, executives and organisations operating in complex and highly competitive environments.

At a time when Portugal is positioning itself as a strategic platform linking Europe, North America and Portuguese-speaking countries, this collaboration also highlights the country’s role as a privileged bridge between markets. The presence of Lufthansa Ground Services Portugal in the Corporate Club further reinforces this international positioning and the proximity of Católica Porto Business School to key sectors of mobility, connectivity and the global economy.

The collaboration is expected to translate into joint initiatives, participation in events and closer engagement with emerging talent, contributing to the development of skills aligned with the demands of the aviation and global services sectors.
