The World Footwear Yearbook (WFY), a global statistical study on the footwear industry produced by CEGEA (Consulting Unit in Management and Applied Economics at Católica Porto Business School) for APICCAPS, was recently mentioned in a Financial Times article on the Chinese economy.

Published since 2011, the WFY is now in its 14th edition. According to CEGEA’s director, Vasco Rodrigues, “it is currently the leading source of statistical information on the global footwear industry.”

The reference to the yearbook reinforces its importance as the sector’s primary data source, analysing trends in production, consumption, exports, and imports across approximately 90 countries.

“It is undoubtedly prestigious to see the World Footwear Yearbook cited in the Financial Times, especially in an article that does not focus on the footwear sector but rather on the recent evolution of the Chinese economy. This recognition is a testament to the credibility of our work,” adds Vasco Rodrigues.
