Quality and Accreditation

Católica Porto Business School is part of a restricted and prestigious group of 1% of business schools worldwide and one of three in Portugal that boast EQUIS, AMBA and AACSB accreditations. 

EQUIS

The fundamental objective of EQUIS (EFMD Quality Improvement System), linked to the mission of European Foundation for Management Development (EFMD), is to raise the standard of management education worldwide.

EQUIS assesses institutions as a whole. It assesses not just degree programmes but all the activities and sub-units of the institution, including research, e-learning units, executive education provision and community outreach.

Católica Porto Business School is accredited by EQUIS. It is one of three business schools in Portugal with such recognition. The mission of this accreditation is to raise the standard of management education worldwide and highlight the leading business schools at the global level. Católica Porto Business School now joins the shortlist of 87 institutions in Europe and 170 throughout the world in a universe comprised of 16 000 institutions accredited by EQUIS.

This accreditation recognises the distinctive quality of all the programmes offered by Católica Porto Business School and indicates that the School complies with the strictest quality standards in all its activities including learning, research, internationalisation and interaction with the corporate world.

AMBA

Católica Porto Business School’s MBA programmes have been accredited by the prestigious Association of MBAs (AMBA). AMBA is an international accreditation authority specialising in postgraduate training programmes for executives, namely MBAs (Master of Business Administration). 

Católica Porto Business School secured the AMBA accreditation for its MBA supply and joined a restricted group of about 200 business schools in over 70 countries that hold this accreditation.
 

AACSB

Católica Porto Business School programs are included under Universidade Católica Portuguesa's AACSB (Association for Advance Collegiate Schools of Business) accreditation scope. Its programs are thus accredited by one of the most important and prestigious entities of international certification of management schools, becoming part of a very restricted group of institutions that hold this recognition globally.

AACSB is the largest business school accreditation agency in the world, connecting faculty, students and companies to achieve a common goal: creating the next generation of leaders. AACSB's mission is to promote engagement, accelerate innovation and expand the impact of management education. With over 1700 affiliated organizations in more than 100 countries and territories, AACSB challenges schools to find new and innovative ways of thinking management training worldwide.
