Methods and Methodologies (MM) 

This PhD course is designed to assist students in their learning of the ‘mechanics’ of an academic career, with an emphasis on writing and publishing skills. By the end of the course, students will be able to: 

LO1. Understand how to conduct ethical research 
LO2. Prepare empirical papers with contributions that are written persuasively and clearly 
LO3. Apply a framework to the writing of conceptual papers 
LO4. Understand a process for writing a literature review 
LO5. Apply basic pedagogical skills in a higher education context 
LO6. Present and communicate research for both academic and non-academic audiences  

The teaching methods that will enable these learning outcomes will be a mix of article examination and group discussion, role play, and written work.
