Management and Organization Theory

6 ECTS / 160h / English

Scientific area:
Management (Mgt)

This PhD-level course covers key theories in management and organisational studies. It has two main goals: to provide a foundation in major theoretical frameworks and to develop research skills. The course offers analytical tools rather than a complete history of the field, helping students explore topics independently. It also focuses on organising academic literature and formulating research questions essential for theory-building.

Course Objectives:
• Introduce theories of organisational behaviour, structure, and dynamics.
• Analyse modern, symbolic, and postmodern perspectives in organisational theory.
• Evaluate major debates and research in the field.
• Apply organisational theory to modern management challenges.
• Develop research skills for dissertation work and publications.
