Ana Lourenço, professor and Associate Dean for Faculty at Católica Porto Business School, was recently elected to the Supervisory Board of the Ordem dos Despachantes Oficiais, for the period 2024-2027.

The Supervisory Board is an independent body created to guarantee the legality of the activity carried out by the bodies of the Ordem dos Despachantes Oficiais and to exercise powers of control, particularly in terms of regulating the exercise of the profession.

This appointment follows the approval of the law which, in 2023, updated the statutes of the professional bodies in Portugal and determined that this supervisory board should be made up of five members with voting rights, including: two representatives of the profession with at least eight years' experience, two teachers from higher education establishments not registered with the Order, and a person of recognised merit.

This election strengthens the presence of Católica Porto Business School in positions of national importance.
