“The artist Joana Vasconcelos recently stated that “you have to have the courage to make mistakes”. And she confessed: “Error has to be greater than success. Almost all of my most successful pieces started with big mistakes”. This confession contains an essential principle: error and failure are inherent to learning processes. Those who are afraid of making mistakes or failing do not take risks. And those who do not take risks do not innovate or learn. Unfortunately, this La Palice truth is often ignored in the management and leadership of organisations.”
