"The International Day for the Eradication of Poverty reminds us of the indignity to which the poor are subjected. The fact that many are workers is even more enlightening – and questions management professors, businesspeople and managers. Competitiveness, growth, human development, poverty eradication, and dignity should be integrated into the same equation. Today's students will be tomorrow's managers. The “theories” we teach them in business schools may have some effect on the way these future managers will act. It is essential, therefore, that the teaching of management and economics more emphatically incorporates this dimension – poverty."
