INDASA, a Portuguese company headquartered in Aveiro with a strong international presence, exporting to more than 100 countries, is the latest member of Católica Porto Business School’s Corporate Club. With over 45 years of activity, the company is one of Europe’s leading producers of high-performance, technologically advanced flexible abrasives.

The partnership was formalised through the signing of an agreement between the Dean of Católica Porto Business School, João Pinto, and INDASA’s CEO, Maria Manuel Santos, together with its Executive Vice-President for Finance, André Sá.

With eight affiliates across different geographies, INDASA has built its trajectory on technological innovation, international competitiveness and a corporate culture focused on continuous improvement. The company has also been strengthening its commitment to corporate responsibility and environmental sustainability, in a sector where production efficiency and environmental impact are now intrinsically linked.

According to the Dean of Católica Porto Business School, João Pinto, “INDASA’s integration into the Corporate Club reinforces the School’s connection to the manufacturing industry and to companies with a strong international footprint. Economics and management are transversal disciplines, and working with industrial companies such as INDASA allows our students to understand the real complexity of operations, international strategy, management control and technological innovation. It is at this intersection between engineering, efficiency and strategic vision that managers prepared for global contexts are developed.”

From INDASA’s perspective, Maria Manuel Santos and André Sá highlight that “this partnership with Católica Porto Business School represents an opportunity to strengthen the link between industry and academia, promoting knowledge sharing and attracting qualified talent to a sector that requires both technical expertise and strategic vision.”

At a time when European industry faces challenges related to digitalisation, energy transition and the reorganisation of supply chains, closer collaboration between business schools and industrial companies is particularly relevant. INDASA’s integration into the Corporate Club contributes to broadening the sectoral diversity of the School’s business ecosystem, further enhancing students’ exposure to complex and global industrial contexts.
