The Human Rights Prize 2023 has been awarded ex-aequo to two organisations that have been working in the field of child protection. One is the P.A.J.E. - Plataforma de Apoio a Jovens ex-Acolhidos, for its work to promote the social and labour inclusion of young adults who lived in foster care as children, supporting them in everyday bureaucratic situations and psychological and legal support, through the knowledge and experience of volunteer professionals.
The other awarded organisation is ProChild - Laboratório Colaborativo, for its work to combat poverty and social exclusion in childhood and to contribute to public policies in defence of children's rights, through a transdisciplinary scientific approach and the articulation of the public and private sectors. Liliana Fernandes, CEGE Researcher, is a member of ProChild.
