APICCAPS - Portuguese Footwear, Components, Leather Goods Manufacturers' Association - presented on November 29th its Strategic Plan to 2030 of the Footwear Cluster, in partnership with CEGEA - Center for Studies in Management and Applied Economics of CPBS.
The plan was presented by Prof. Vasco Rodrigues, who coordinated the work, and Prof. Alberto Castro, in a ceremony held at The Baron's Hall, in Vila Nova de Gaia, chaired by the Secretary of State for the Economy.
With four clear priorities, in terms of qualification, sustainability, flexibility and active presence in the markets, the new strategic vision for the next decade is divided into 24 measures and 113 actions, which aim to position this sector internationally. "We do not want the Portuguese footwear to compare with the best; we want it to be one of the best. We do not want to try to do as well as others; we want others to aspire to do as well as us. For this, we will have to distinguish ourselves by sophistication and creativity", which can be read in the document.
This is the seventh strategic plan of APPICAPS and implies an investment of 600 million Euros to achieve all the defined objectives by 2030.
It is now essential to emphasize that this research unit - CEGEA - makes the Católica Porto Business School resources available to the community, combining research capacity and university independence with customer service, a characteristic detail of a consulting firm.
