Rafael Dias is the Head of Quality Improvement at Católica Porto Business School since 2020. He has been coordinating the School’s national (A3ES) and international (AACSB, AMBA and EQUIS) accreditation processes since 2013.
He is a Bachelor's in Economics and holds a Master’s in Economics (specialisation in Industrial Economics) from the School of Economics and Management of the University of Porto.
He is also an assistant at Católica Porto Business School and regularly collaborates in studies from its consulting unit (CEGEA), with the recent examples of ‘The Regulatory State in Portugal: Evolution and Performance’ (for the Francisco Manuel dos Santos Foundation) and several studies for the footwear industry. Member of the Scientific Committee in the InterNetWorking Conference ‑ Intercultural Week (School of Education of the Polytechnic of Porto, 2019‑2022).
He was a jury member at the Arnhem Business School Talent Event, HAN University of Applied Sciences, Arnhem, the Netherlands, 2017.
He was a team member in the EU‑funded projects ‘EFFE: Evaluating Financing of Forestry in Europe’ and ‘EUROSILVASUR’. Rafael Dias was also a supervisor in the Portuguese Trade and Investment Agency’s (aicep Portugal Global) programme Contacto, between 2002 and 2006.
He was a visiting assistant at the School of Social Sciences (Braga Regional Centre, Universidade Católica Portuguesa, 2001‑2002) and at Universidade Fernando Pessoa (1996) and a research assistant in UCP's and University of Porto's research projects in 1996‑1997.
