Sofia Salgado Pinto is assistant professor at Católica Porto Business School, in the area of service and operations management, and her interests are linked to Management Development and the Quality of Management training.
She is a non‑executive director at Mota‑Engil SGPS, independent member of the General Supervisory Board at EDP, and Chairman of the Fiscal Council at Media Capital.
She was Dean at Católica Porto Business School between 2013 and 2020.
She served as independent director at STCP ‑ Sociedade de Transportes Colectivos do Porto between 2016 and 2018.
Internationally, Sofia is a member of the EQUIS Board at EFMD (Belgium) since 2019 and a member of the International Advisory Board of Liverpool University Management School (UK) and Skéma Business School (France).
Sofia is Doctor in Philosophy in Business Studies from Warwick University (UK) with adissertation on the specification of high interaction services and has an MSc in Management of Commercial Operations and a degree in Management, both from Universidade Católica Portuguesa.
She has completed the Corporate Governance certificate at Insead (2019) and participated in the High Potentials Leadership Program at Harvard (2012).
Prior to come to academia Sofia held a line management post in a service organization in the hospitality and entertainment industry.
Sofia is the author of a book on service quality measurement and management.
She is member of the Porto coordination group of ACEGE (Association of Catholic Managers), member of the Porto Diocesan Commission for Inter Religious Dialogue, and Member of the Advisory Board at Junior Enterprises Portugal (former JADE Portugal) in representation of CRUP.
Sofia is 50 years old, is married and mother of 3 daughters.
