The first rise in interest rates since 2023 was the focus of the programme "Negócios" on the NOW channel, featuring a live appearance by Paulo Alves, Vice-Dean of Católica Porto Business School.

In analysing the impact of this decision on the markets, credit and economic activity, Paulo Alves highlighted that “the markets had been calling for this increase for some time and, in fact, at the March meeting there had already been some expectation of an increase that did not materialise”.

The interview was broadcast on 12 June at 9:33 a.m. on the NOW channel’s Negócios programme.
