Católica Porto Business School once again stands out on the international stage by consolidating its presence among the top 100 European business schools, according to the Financial Times (FT). In the 2025 edition of the “European Business Schools Ranking”, the School climbs 13 positions, reaching 81st place, becoming the 6th with the most significant progress in the European Top 100 and the Portuguese business school that has risen the most.
This performance reinforces the excellent results achieved throughout the year, with the inclusion of the Master's in Finance and Management in the Financial Times rankings “Master's in Finance 2025” and “Master's in Management 2025”.
The “European Business Schools Ranking”, published annually by the British publishing group Financial Times, evaluates the best European business schools based on criteria such as program quality, salary and career progression for graduates, gender diversity, research, and academic impact. This ranking is internationally recognised as a benchmark for students and professionals seeking excellent management training.
Paulo Alves, Vice-Dean responsible for Quality and Accreditations, highlights that “also in the Financial Times master's rankings, Católica Porto Business School is the 5th school in the global table with the highest salary increase for graduates of the Master's in Management, and, in the Master's in Finance, it is the 3rd best business school in terms of career progression.”
According to João Pinto, Dean of Católica Porto Business School, “the rise in the European Business Schools 2025 ranking consolidates our presence in this prestigious ranking and represents another firm step in the international affirmation of the School, reflecting the quality of the training, the career progression of graduates and the growing impact of the institution in the academic and business landscape”.
This result also reinforces Portugal's position in European management education: six Portuguese business schools are among the Financial Times' Top 100, a remarkable achievement internationally, surpassed only by four larger countries – Germany, Spain, France, and the United Kingdom.
With this distinction, UCP (Universidade Católica Portuguesa / the Catholic University of Portugal) sees its two business schools — Católica Porto Business School and Católica Lisbon School of Business and Economics — ranked among the best business schools in Europe.
In addition to the distinctions awarded by the Financial Times, Católica Porto Business School holds the prestigious "Triple Crown" status, achieved by only 1% of business schools worldwide, thanks to the international accreditations EQUIS (EFMD Quality Improvement System, from the European Foundation for Management Development), AMBA (Association of MBAs), and AACSB (Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business). This recognition attests to the quality of its teaching, research, and societal impact.
