"A straightforward yet incomplete answer is: these leaders possess dishonest personalities. This answer is incomplete as it overlooks the range of factors leading to unethical leadership (...) Some people indeed have unethical and even ‘dangerous’ personalities. Being manipulative and persuasive, these individuals attain positions of power – only then to reveal their unethical nature."
