Católica Porto Business School is hosting a debate-conference on the book “As Causas do Atraso Português – Repensar o passado para reinventar o presente” (“The Causes of Portuguese Backwardness – Rethinking the Past to Reinvent the Present”), authored by Nuno Palma, Professor of Economics at the University of Manchester.

In his work, the author questions why Portugal is considered a wealthy country on a global scale today, yet remains among the least developed countries in Europe. In a conversation with Rodrigo Queiroz e Melo, the debate will focus particularly on education as one of the main structural factors behind the country’s underdevelopment.

Date and time: 23 April, 6:45 p.m.
Location: Universidade Católica in Porto, Biotechnology Building, Comendador Arménio Miranda Auditorium
