By 2030, at the end of the Decade of Healthy Ageing (2021-2030), "the number of people aged 60 and over will be 34 per cent higher, rising from 1 billion in 2019 to 1.4 billion; by 2050, the world's elderly population will have more than doubled to 2.1 billion". This demographic shift is (and will continue to) cause changes in the labour market and in the way organisations manage their workforce.
