Católica Porto Business School hosted two Business Masterclasses within the Executive MBA programme, further strengthening the link between the School and the corporate world and providing students with direct contact with senior leaders and real management challenges.
On 4 February, João Dolores, Board Member and Chief Financial Officer of SONAE, opened the cycle with a session dedicated to Corporate Strategy. A specialist in finance and corporate strategy, he shared his experience leading one of Portugal’s largest organisations, in a session marked by close interaction and open discussion on decision-making in highly complex contexts.
The cycle continued with the masterclass “Luxury Strategies”, delivered by Hugo Ribeiro da Silva, CEO of XRS Holding SGPS (Porsche and Bentley) and member of the Societal Advisory Board at Católica Porto Business School. The session explored trends in the luxury sector, premium brand management strategies, and the challenges of innovation and positioning in a highly competitive market.
These initiatives also highlight the role of Católica Porto Business School’s Corporate Club, of which these companies are members, in promoting applied learning closely aligned with contemporary business dynamics.
The sessions included moments of reflection and interaction between speakers and participants, reinforcing the value of the Business Masterclasses as an essential complement to academic training.
According to Luís Marques, Director of the Executive MBA, the Business Masterclasses “offer a unique opportunity for our Executive MBA students to connect theory with practice, engaging directly with leading companies and senior executives, and developing the strategic vision required to face today’s business challenges.”
The cycle will continue on 15 April with a session dedicated to Geostrategy, featuring Pedro Siza Vieira, partner at PLMJ and former Vice-Prime Minister of Portugal.
