Católica Porto Business School and Liga Portugal have signed a cooperation agreement within the framework of the Executive MBA in Professional Football. This is the first Executive MBA in Portugal specifically focused on football, reinforcing the commitment to the professionalisation and qualification of the industry.

The agreement aims to bring participants closer to the professional football environment, promoting an executive education programme designed for executives, managers, coaches and other industry professionals, through a curriculum that combines academic rigour, strategic insight and the practical application of knowledge.

This initiative comes at a time when modern football increasingly demands strong competencies in areas such as leadership, management, finance, marketing and innovation, in line with the growing complexity of the sector.

The President of Liga Portugal, Reinaldo Teixeira, states that this MBA “is absolutely pioneering and unlike any other. Sport, and football in particular, faces the challenge of bringing more skills and knowledge to the community and its stakeholders, and Liga Portugal, as the home of Professional Football, sets an example of excellence through its Business School”.

As for Católica Porto Business School, the agreement strengthens its positioning as a leading institution in executive education. The Dean of the institution, João Pinto, highlights that “we have been working with Liga Portugal for several years now, and it has been a very positive journey. This programme is aligned with the School’s strategy, particularly in terms of societal impact and international engagement, and represents an innovative and demanding project”.

For Liga Portugal Business School, this partnership represents a decisive step in consolidating its mission to develop leaders prepared for the current and future challenges of football.
