Joachim Karl, a management student at Católica Porto Business School, stood out by winning the "Tech Challenge" at UnternehmerTUM, one of Europe's largest startup centres. During the mobility program at TUM - Technical University of Munich, Karl and his team won the entrepreneurship competition with their "RideSync" project.

Following this achievement, the students developed a prototype application of the project to apply for the Hult Prize. The team made it to the global finals in Dubai, and their project was selected among the top 3.6% of 10,000 startups in the competition.

In the students' words, "RideSync is a solution that combines parcel and passenger transport into one efficient system. Our semi-flexible routing approach allows buses to stop at both fixed and flexible stops. Fixed stops are pre-determined, while flexible stops are located in between and are only approached when a customer books a pick-up or drop-off. Additionally, our buses deliver and collect parcels at each fixed stop, located next to Parcel Pick-up points."

Karl's team intends to continue working on the project, which aims to improve urban transport and the logistics market in Germany, Europe, and the world.

Católica Porto Business School is committed to becoming a global school and seeks to reinforce this through the internationalization opportunities it offers its students.
