On Friday 13th October, Católica Porto Business School (CPBS) hosted the inaugural class of its Postgraduate Programme (PG) in Sustainability and Regeneration - Innovation and Circular Economy. The programme, a clear commitment by CPBS in a growing area, was developed in collaboration with the School of Biotechnology (ESB) and Planetiers New Generation (PNG), as part of INSURE.hub, and also has a partnership with KPMG.
The initial session, dedicated to the topic of Sustainable and Regenerative Business Fundamentals, was given by Luís Rochartre, an advisor at PNG. João Pinto, vice-president of the Catholic University in Porto and one of PG's directors, pointed out that "this initiative comes as part of CPBS's Strategic Plan to launch a new block of courses focused on circular business solutions", and also stressed that it was "the first programme of its kind in Portugal to be based on the issue of innovation".
Manuela Pintado, a lecturer at ESB and director of the postgraduate programme, emphasised the disruptive nature of this training and the fact that "we have managed to bring together a multidisciplinary team so that, throughout the course, we can work on all the issues that a company, a professional or, at a more institutional level, a municipality needs".
Finally, António Vasconcelos, co-leader of INSURE.hub and also director of PG, said that "this is a programme completely designed so that you can work on your business, bringing in transdisciplinarity and international ecosystems, so that you can always create added-value knowledge".
