Católica Porto Business School and Porto Tech Hub launch debate on the future of AI and emotional intelligence

Friday, November 28, 2025 - 17:14

Católica Porto Business School and Porto Tech Hub will host, on 4 December at 5:00 p.m., the event “Artificial Intelligence, Emotional Intelligence: Walking Hand in Hand or Turning Their Backs?”, which formally marks the beginning of the partnership between the two institutions. The session will take place at the Universidade Católica Portuguesa in Porto.

Bringing together specialists from academia and the technology sector, the event aims to promote a reflection on the intersection between artificial intelligence and emotional intelligence and its impact on the future of organisations. The session opens with a presentation of the partnership by João Pinto, Director of Católica Porto Business School, and Joana Linhas, Vice-President of Porto Tech Hub.

“This partnership is born from the belief that the future of organisations requires more than technology—it requires humanity, vision, and the ability to understand the impact we want to generate. Bringing together artificial intelligence and emotional intelligence is a decisive step in preparing leaders capable of innovating responsibly,” says João Pinto, Director of Católica Porto Business School.

This is followed by a roundtable dedicated to the event's theme, featuring Arménio Rego and Ricardo Ribeiro, professors at Católica Porto Business School, Luís Silva, President of Porto Tech Hub, and Hélder Ribeiro, Chief Digital Officer at Sonae MC.

“The collaboration with Católica Porto Business School represents a natural step in strengthening the connection between academia and the technology sector. We believe that the future of organisations will be built on the ability to combine the best of technology with the best of people, and this event seeks precisely to open space for that dialogue,” states Luís Silva, President of Porto Tech Hub.

The partnership between Católica Porto Business School and Porto Tech Hub aims to create spaces for reflection, training, and collaboration that prepare leaders and organisations for a future in which technology and humanity walk side by side.

Note: The event is free of charge but requires prior registration.
