The scientific coordinator of CEGE (Research Centre in Management and Economics) at Católica Porto Business School and a professor at the institution, Božidar Vlačić, recently took part as a speaker at one of the world's leading conferences, the Strategic Management Society (SMS) Extension Conference. This year, the theme at the conference that took place in Belgrade, Serbia, was “Disruptive Digital Technologies, Data, and AI: Implications for Innovation, Entrepreneurship, and Strategic Decision-making".
The University of Belgrade, Faculty of Organizational Sciences hosted the event, and was the stage where Božidar Vlačić was present discussing the panel on "Disruptive Technologies and the Future of Work". Together with Aleksandar Nedeljkovic (Mainstream), Amisha Miller (NYU Stern) and Vukasin Grozdic (Ministry of Science, Technological Development and Innovation, Republic of Serbia) and moderated by Jovana Karanovic (Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University), the discussion brought perspectives from industry, academia and government.
Božidar Vlačić shared key findings from the EmpowerHR4Inno project, where he participated as the Principal Researcher on behalf of Católica Porto Business School, with Eva Oliveira, professor at our School. Given the conference’s focus on disruptive technology and the future of work, it provided an ideal platform to present and discuss the EmpowerHR4Inno. This project aims to explore how innovative solutions are adopted within organizations and examines their impact on the evolving nature of work.
The SMS Extension Conference brought together a global community of academics interested in the study of digitalization, innovation, entrepreneurship, AI and technology to discuss cutting-edge research. This event aimed to bring together professionals who have developed a unique approach to developing a local solution to technological problems.
