The second edition of the “My Financial Future” competition, an initiative by Banco de Portugal and the CFA Society Portugal, is back, and Católica Porto Business School invites its students to put their skills to the test.

The competition challenges university students to present creative and innovative solutions to a case study focused on topics such as household budgeting, saving, investing, and credit. Applications are open until 26 October 2025 and are available to students from all fields of study, who should contact a lecturer from the School to register.

Teams may consist of between two and four students, and the top three will receive a cash prize, with the first-place team earning up to one thousand euros.

In the previous edition, a team made up of students from Católica Porto Business School and the School of Biotechnology achieved second place nationally. The team — composed of Vitória Afonso and Rafaela Melo (Bachelor’s in Management), Carolina Mendonça (Bachelor’s in Bioengineering), and Francisca Sousa (Master’s in Biomedical Engineering) — presented their case study in the national final, held at the Money Museum in Lisbon.

This was not the only team from the Portuguese Catholic University to reach the podium. The winning team of the first edition came from Católica Lisbon School of Business & Economics, once again highlighting the institution’s academic quality and excellence.

The national stage of the competition will take place in March 2026, during Financial Literacy Week and Global Money Week 2026, when the finalist teams will present their proposals to a panel of judges made up of representatives from the organising institutions.
