He has worked in over 80 countries, published 44 books, and co-produced the award-winning documentary Closing the Loop.

Ricardo Artur Ribeiro​

With over 20 years of experience, he leads cross-functional teams in digital innovation and advanced technologies. With a PhD in Industrial Engineering, he is researching the impact of social media and digital platforms on metabolic health management, integrating advanced analyses and community tools for sustainable innovation in health.

Hugo de Almeida​

Founder of Sustainable Brands Ocean and Partner at BestEmotions, he is a member of the IAA Sustainability Global Board and a guest lecturer at Católica Porto Business School.
With over 20 years of experience in sustainability, marketing and innovation, he leads global initiatives in the Blue Economy and AI-based solutions. He founded Sustainable Brands Oceans and is a member of the Proteus team, Fabien Cousteau's advanced ocean research platform. He is also a partner in BestEmotions and plays strategic roles in innovative environmental technologies such as ClearE8 and Space Warner. At the IAA, he promotes sustainability in the communications industry.

Pedro Miguel Freitas

Professor at the Faculty of Law at the Universidade Católica Portuguesa, where he teaches Law and Technology, Cybercrime, and Cybersecurity Law and Policy. He coordinates the Postgraduate Programme in Law and Technology and co-edited the book "Multidisciplinary Perspectives on Artificial Intelligence and the Law" (Springer). He is a member of the Portuguese Association for AI, the Católica Research Centre for the Future of Law, ALGORITMI, and EUROPOL’s Secure Platform for Cybercrime Experts.

Professor of Data Science and Biomedical Engineering at the Faculty of Biotechnology - UCP​


Vice-dean and professor at UCP's Faculty of Biotechnology, he is an integrated member of the Research Centre for Biotechnology and Fine Chemistry. He coordinates the postgraduate programme in Data Science in Biotechnology and co-coordinates the degree in Bioengineering. He has published over 90 scientific articles and has been honoured by the Health INNOVATION Awards and the HiTech programme. His work has resulted in the creation of a patent.
