Ana Lourenço represents Católica Porto Business School at conference on governance

Thursday, February 20, 2025 - 10:04

Católica Porto Business School, a partner of Negócios Sustentabilidade 20|30, is again participating in the largest cycle of ESG (Environment, Social and Governance) conferences in Portugal. After hosting the social conference in January, it will be present on 26 February at Casa das Histórias Paula Rego in Lisbon for the event "A Governação em tempos de disrupções" (Governance in times of disruption), focused on the challenges of leadership in contexts of instability.

Ana Lourenço, professor and associate dean for the faculty area at Católica Porto Business School is going to take part in the panel "How to finance defence, the green transition and the welfare state?". For Ana Lourenço, "the green transition is a challenge of intergenerational justice. It implies a long-term perspective that doesn't always align with the incentives placed on those who manage organisations. To that extent, it is also a major governance challenge today."

She adds that "conferences on governance issues make it possible to question different management models for organisations and to reflect together on the benefits and risks of each one. To that extent, they are an essential step in making decisions about the organisations we want to have."

The same panel will also include ISEG assistant professor Amílcar Moreira and José Neves, director of Homeland Security and Defence at GMV and president of AED Cluster Portugal. Other personalities such as Nuno Piteira Lopes, Pedro Reis and Nadim Habib will also be present at the conference.

This is an event that reflects on the challenges of governance in a constantly changing world. See the full programme and register here

The last conference to close the cycle will take place in May, on a date to be decided.
