In an increasingly complex, diverse and highly regulated business environment, conflict is inevitable. How it is prevented and managed has become a strategic leadership competence, with a direct impact on organisational culture, internal trust and the creation of sustainable value.

It is within this context that Católica Porto Business School is promoting an open class (via Zoom), dedicated to reflecting on the relationship between ethical leadership, organisational culture and constructive conflict management, as part of the launch of the 4th edition of the Executive Programme in Chief Ethics & Compliance Officer.

The session will be led by Helena Gonçalves, Coordinator of the Ethics Forum of Católica Porto Business School, and Ana Maria Maia Gonçalves, Founder of the Institute for the Certification and Training of Lusophone Mediators. The speakers will address the importance of preventive, consistent and values-aligned approaches to resolving tensions within organisations, going beyond purely legalistic or reactive responses.

Throughout this event, participants will explore how mediation and the ethical management of conflict can be integrated into leadership practice and embraced as key competencies.

This open class is free of charge, will take place online, and is part of the promotion of the Executive Programme in Chief Ethics & Compliance Officer, scheduled to begin in February 2026.
