Location: Room EAA003 | Américo Amorim Building, on the UCP campus in Porto
Date and Time: 29th May, 09:30
Programme: see below

We live in challenging times of great environmental, social, and economic complexity, where companies have been playing an increasingly significant role, becoming aware of their impact on the community and their stakeholders, as well as on the sustainability of resources and the planet.

Fortunately, this awareness has been gaining weight in the business ecosystem, and more and more companies are required to align with a set of goals (such as the SDGs - Sustainable Development Goals) and with a set of performance and impact criteria (ESG - Environmental, Social, and Governance) that help align corporate policies and good practices. Initially, these criteria were proposed to companies, but today they are becoming mandatory, and non-compliance can result in penalties in relationships with business partners, banks, authorities, and customers.

Aware of this reality, ACEGE, in collaboration with UCP and Santander, is launching this national programme to raise awareness among companies about the importance and impact of Sustainability/ESG criteria on the future of small and medium-sized enterprises, and to provide paths and tools that allow aligning and operationalising management with this theme in companies.

This programme's first proposal is to hold a Seminar/Conference: Companies with Purpose: ESG for SMEs, followed by a second phase offering training courses for the implementation of ESG strategies in companies.
