Ersin Korpeoglu-catolica-porto-business-school

Ersin Korpeoglu is an Associate Professor at UCL School of Management. He received his PhD in Operations Management from the Tepper School of Business at Carnegie Mellon University. He also holds a master’s degree and an undergraduate degree in Industrial Engineering from Bilkent University.

Korpeoglu’s primary area of research is innovative businesses, such as online platforms (e.g., crowdfunding, crowdsourcing, hospitality), and their interactions with conventional businesses. He also conducts research on innovation sourcing and management, healthcare technology, supply chain economics, socially responsible operations, and business analytics. He utilizes theoretical, empirical, and experimental methodologies in his research.

Korpeoglu’s work has been published in flagship academic journals, including Management Science, Operations Research, and Manufacturing & Service Operations Management, as well as practitioner journals such as INTERFACES. His work is also featured in leading outlets, including Harvard Business Review (online), the Financial Times, and the Wall Street Journal. He is listed as one of the World’s Best 40 Under 40 MBA Professors by Poets and Quants. His research received numerous awards, including best dissertation, best working paper, and best paper awards, and his work with his students received several awards in young scholar and student paper competitions. He is an active member of INFORMS, the MSOM Society, and TIMES, and an associate editor at Management Science.
