Isabel de Castro Guimarães lectures Economic Sociology to undergraduate students of Economics and Management.
Her research interests include labour market processes and employability, inequalities and qualitative methods, namely qualitative meta‑analysis.
Isabel holds a PhD in Sociology awarded by the School of the Social Sciences of The University of Manchester and a master degree in Sociology of Work from ISCTE, Lisbon.
She has conducted research on transitions from the university to the labour market of law and management graduates.
In recent years she has supervised Master dissertations on inequalities, namely gender inequality, reconciling work and personal and family lives, inclusic+ve organisational policies and diversity.
Isabel was also part of the team that created and managed the Career Services at the Catholic Portuguese University in Porto, from 1996 to 2002.
Currently, she coordinates the workshops on Academic Writing at CPBS.
