Bernardo's Ph.D is in Management (Finance) (2021) from the University of Porto.
As a Ph.D student, he visited the Erasmus School of Economics and the European Central Bank.
Bernardo's research focuses on banking and finance, namely the intersect between banking, climate risk and digitalization. His joint research has been published in international peer‑reviewed journals, including the European Journal of Finance.
He is a member of the COST Action Group on "Fintech and Artificial Intelligence in Finance ‑ Towards a transparent financial industry".
