On 26 May, Católica Porto Business School once again opened its doors to secondary school students and their families for another edition of the Undergraduate Open Day. The event provided participants with a closer insight into the School’s academic environment through moments of interaction, sharing and guidance.

The reception began outdoors on campus, in a more informal setting, marked by the presence of Católica Porto Business School’s student groups - AECPBS, CIC, CS’C -, and CASO (CAtólica SOlidária) as well as a performance by the “UCP Tuna” (music academic group).

At the Carvalho Guerra Auditorium, Associate Dean for Undergraduate Programmes, Helena Correia, presented the School, its academic offer and some of the key features that distinguish Católica Porto Business School, including the close relationship between students and faculty, the strong connection to the business world and the international dimension of its programmes.

During the Q&A, participants also had the opportunity to ask questions directly to various departments, including the Career and Development Office, the Global Education Office, to Luísa Anacoreta, coordinator of the Double Degree Programme in Law and in Management, as well as the Academic Services. Topics covered included applications, internationalisation, career opportunities, international mobility and the academic pathway at the School.

The event also featured the panel discussion “Between Expectations and Reality: the Experience of Studying at Católica Porto Business School”, moderated by Professor Francisco Mota Gonçalves, bringing together students and alumni with different academic paths -Ana Rio, Tiago Machado, Pedro Vasco and Inês Esteves. The panel shared insights into their academic and professional journeys, as well as the challenges and learning experiences encountered along the way.

The session also included the participation of Beatriz Guimarães, Talent Attraction & Engagement Specialist at SONAE Sierra, who shared the perspective of the labour market and highlighted the skills currently most valued by companies.

The Open Day concluded with a guided campus tour led by students from the School, allowing participants to explore the different facilities of the Universidade Católica Portuguesa in Porto.

The first application phase for Católica Porto Business School’s undergraduate programmes opens on 1 June. Further information about the programmes and application process is available on the Universidade Católica Portuguesa admissions portal.
