The new masters from Católica Porto Business School for the academic year 23/24, along with colleagues from the other faculties of the Universidade Católica Portuguesa in Porto, filled the Ilídio Pinho Auditorium for the ceremony to bless and hand out their masters diplomas. It was an important moment in the lives of all the graduates, but also very important in the life of the University itself, which is proud of the "skills and values that the students have cultivated over the last few years". Isabel Braga da Cruz, pro-rector of the Universidade Católica Portuguesa, also asked the new graduates to ‘never forget that the Universidade Católica, your Alma Mater, will continue to be your home. The bonds you have built here are forever" and challenges the graduates to “build a better world with responsibility, ethics and commitment to improving society”.
The ceremony, which took place on 8 November, was attended by graduates from all of Católica's faculties, their families and friends. For the new masters, a great feeling of "mission accomplished and gratitude" prevails.
"What will a young person be without the glow of hope and confidence?"
"It's undoubtedly a feeling of mission accomplished, that the goals have been achieved and also a feeling of pride at having been able to be part of this journey here at Católica Porto Business School", said Marta Ferreira, a new master at our school.
The new masters also said that "this is the end of a stage, but also the beginning of a journey that we hope will be full of successes and achievements. May we always remember this moment and keep alight the flame of enthusiasm and determination that has brought us this far".
D. Roberto Mariz, auxiliary bishop of Porto, was present at the ceremony, blessing the diplomas and challenging the young people to be "practising dreamers and to keep the light of hope and trust burning brightly. What will a young person be without the glow of hope and trust?"
The ceremony also saw the presentation of merit awards from the faculties and partner institutions: the Professor João Baptista Machado Award, the Faculty of Health Sciences and Nursing - Porto Award, the Cerejeira Namora Award, the Marinho Falcão Award in Tax Law, the Garrigues Award, the Rainha Santa Isabel Award, the Caixa Geral de Depósitos - Católica Porto Business School Award and the Caixa Geral de Depósitos - School of the Arts Award.
As pro-rector Isabel Braga da Cruz said, "Don't forget to be happy. The Universidade Católica will be here to support you in everything you need".
