Get Together Event celebrated the new edition of Católica Porto Business School's Mentoring Programme

Friday, February 28, 2025 - 14:40

Last Wednesday, February 26, Católica Porto Business School brought together mentors and mentees for the Get Together Event, a moment that signalled the end of the 12th edition and the official start of the 13th edition of the Mentoring Programme.

This programme aims to promote the personal and professional development of first-year master's students through regular interaction with an external mentor, typically a professional from the fields of economics or management. In this way, the event becomes a unique opportunity for students to establish contacts, exchange experiences and broaden their network.

The Get Together Event was marked by the presentation of diplomas to the mentors and mentees of the 12th edition, followed by an inspiring conversation with our School's alumni, Luísa Jervell (Marketing Offer Director at NOS SGPS) and André Costa (Analytics & Strategy Associate at FARFETCH). The interlocutors who shared their experiences on this journey are, respectively, mentor and mentee of the 8th edition of the Mentoring Programme and, in the latest edition, André himself became a mentor.

The guests emphasised the importance of mentoring and networking in professional guidance, career transitions and personal challenges. They shared how mentoring during the pandemic helped maintain support networks and how the relationship between mentor and mentee can endure, being valuable at key career moments.

Católica Porto Business School's Mentoring Programme supports career guidance, preparing students for the job market and networking. With a minimum of four interactions, mentoring is personalised and aligned with the student's profile, motivations and goals. The Career and Development Office guarantees the selection of mentors and support throughout the process.

Since its launch, 638 students have taken part in the programme, involving 475 mentor participations, integrated into a network of 310 mentors, 231 of whom are Universidade Católica Portuguesa in Porto alumni, with experience in 27 countries other than Portugal. In the 12th edition, 37 pairs of mentors and mentees were formed, while the 13th edition, now starting, has 21 new pairs ready to embark on this journey of development and growth.
