Católica Porto Business School promoted, on 24th April, another edition of Career Day for Undergrads & Master's. This event, aimed at undergraduate finalists and master's students at Católica Porto Business School, seeks to bring this audience closer to the job market, providing an excellent opportunity for networking and understanding the business context.
The organization of this event, which has already reached ten editions, is the responsibility of the Career and Development Office, a personal and professional guidance and development service, especially aimed at students at Católica Porto Business School. Around 150 representatives from more than 60 companies attended this year's edition, national and international, and approximately 120 students.
Career Day 2024 was marked by several moments of interaction between companies and students and between companies and academia. During the morning, a consultation meeting was held, in which Católica Porto Business School had the opportunity to listen to representatives of some of the companies invited to share their vision on topics such as skills valued in the job market, trends in recruitment, innovation and strategic priorities, among others. This initiative highlights the proximity that Católica Porto Business School maintains with the business community, seeking to adapt its training to the reality of companies to integrate its students into the job market better.
Throughout the afternoon, students could participate in the Career Day Fair, where they could walk around the stands and learn about internship opportunities and other full-time vacancies. Furthermore, they could also participate in speed interviews, with 90 students enrolled in more than 200 interviews. Both initiatives took place at the premises of the Católica Porto Business School.
João Simões, Head of Human Resources at Liga Portugal, highlighted the importance of these fairs in making students aware of the internship and job opportunities available and the personal development and professional progression projects each company offers. Carlota Carvalho, a Master of Marketing student, sees Career Day as a first step in integrating into the job market and an excellent opportunity to contact companies more directly.
