The start of the academic year for the Executive MBA at Católica Porto Business School has been marked by a series of initiatives that strengthen experiential learning, reinforce the School’s close relationship with the business sector, and highlight the programme’s international dimension. Over the past weeks, three editions of the MBA have taken part in distinctive activities that reflect the School’s mission to develop leaders capable of acting, innovating and transforming.

IMPACT BOOTCAMP
In partnership with IES – Social Business School, students from the 19th edition of the Executive MBA developed new Impact Entrepreneurship initiatives. The Bootcamp challenged the teams to design and structure projects, define business models, outline implementation plans, and prepare effective communications. The group engaged fully in an immersive process of deconstruction and reconstruction, gaining tools and perspectives they can apply within their organisations, in the ongoing development of the project created during the programme, or in future entrepreneurial endeavours.

International Week at ESADE Business School
This week was one of the most significant moments for the 19th edition, bringing students together in an intensive management simulation that tested their strategic, analytical and decision-making skills in complex business environments. The experience strengthened participants’ global outlook and consolidated essential learning for leadership in competitive settings. It also marked the symbolic conclusion of another edition, reflecting a spirit of achievement, collaboration and growth.

Company Project at Centro Porsche Porto
Students from the 20th edition presented at Centro Porsche Porto the solutions they developed for the challenge proposed by XRS Motor. In a real business environment, they applied knowledge, tested innovative approaches, and enhanced their decision-making skills with a strong results-oriented focus.

International Week at Luiss Business School – Rome
The International Week at Luiss Business School in Rome, held in collaboration with Birra Peroni, offered students a truly multicultural experience, alongside participants from various international schools. Throughout the week, teams were challenged to develop a real marketing project launched by the brand, applying strategic, creative and analytical skills in a highly competitive and global context. The initiative reinforced international integration, teamwork and innovative thinking, highlighting the importance of intercultural collaboration and the ability to respond to contemporary organisational challenges.

According to student Inês Teló Monteiro, “the experience proved that diversity is the greatest lever for innovation. It brought together 24 students from five continents to create solutions for Peroni, resulting in perspectives we would never have reached individually. The value lies not only in the final outcome but in managing this multicultural process. This week is a must-do for any MBA student, especially for those who aspire to lead in the global market. It offers personal growth, creative solutions and powerful international networking.”

Integration of the 21st edition of the Executive MBA
The welcome activities for the new edition included a ‘Taskmaster’ dynamic organised with MapaZero – Teambuilding e Eventos, focused on developing skills such as critical thinking, collaboration and creativity. This was followed by a “sailing initiation experience”, in partnership with BBDouro Group, during which students worked on leadership, team management and negotiation in a challenging and collaborative environment.
