Gonçalo Sousa, a student of the Bachelor’s Degree in Economics at Católica Porto Business School, secured second place at the national level in the first edition of the University Economics Olympics, an academic competition that brought together students from higher education institutions across the country.

The initiative, organised by the Order of Economists and the Association Une Dois Mundos, aimed to promote academic excellence and foster exchange among students of Economics and Management.

“More than the result itself, this experience allowed me to build connections with colleagues from various parts of the country, both academically and socially, while proudly representing CPBS,” said Gonçalo Sousa.

The student decided to take part because he believes that “an academic path does not always faithfully reflect one’s abilities.” Participation in the Olympiad was therefore an opportunity to test his knowledge, challenge himself, and demonstrate his potential.

According to Helena Correia, Deputy Director for Undergraduate Programmes at Católica Porto Business School, “the result achieved is a great source of pride and a clear sign of the quality of our students, further enhancing the prestige of the School.”
