As part of the European Union initiative, Católica Porto Business School applied to the EIT Tech Talent program, which aims to qualify one million people in deep tech areas over the next three years. Led by Susana Costa e Silva, professor at Católica Porto Business School and director of the Master's in Management, this application resulted in the organization of the "Deep Tech & Business Case Summer School", one of four summer schools promoted by Católica Porto Business School this summer.
The deep tech area addresses cutting-edge technological solutions combining science and engineering in the physical, biological, and digital spheres, essential to facing global challenges. The Summer School Deep Tech & Business Case is taking place at Católica Porto Business School from July 8th to 19th. Within its scope, the Penafiel City Council provided free access to ten young people from the municipality, recognizing the program's quality and representing an opportunity to spark interest and knowledge about disruptive technologies.
“We believe that the stimulating environment experienced in these two immersive weeks, combined with access to top-notch resources, will be an inspiring experience for young people from the people of Penafiel who had the opportunity to participate in the Summer School. We know that they will be the new generation of leaders and, as a public entity, we feel that we have the mission of empowering young people to add value to their community and, in particular, to the business fabric”, says Pedro Santana Cepeda, Vice-President of the Penafiel City Council.
The Summer School organized by Católica Porto Business School will end with the presentation of projects on July 19th. The best project will receive a prize worth €1500. This initiative reinforces Católica Porto Business School's commitment to preparing the next generation of leaders.
