The Ethics Forum at Católica Porto Business School is promoting a national survey on ethical leadership at work as part of its annual study. The questionnaire, available online until 15 October, is aimed at anyone who works or has worked in an organisation, including retired or unemployed people.
The choice of theme stems from the belief that leaders play a decisive role in promoting ethical organisational cultures. "Leaders not only inspire people to do the right thing, but also to reflect on how to Be and Act. By example, they can guide policies, make ethical decisions and communicate clear expectations", explains Helena Gonçalves, coordinator of the Ethics Forum.
For her, the focus on ethical leadership comes at a time when companies are facing increasing pressures related to sustainability, diversity, technology and transparency. In this context, it is essential to assess the extent to which leaders are prepared to make ethics a priority and to create conditions that promote trust within organisations.
The results of the survey will be presented on 20 November during the Forum's annual conference. The meeting will feature José Teixeira, CEO of the DST Group, in the opening lecture, and a round table with Portuguese managers, moderated by Sofia Salgado, a lecturer at the School. The opening will be led by the director of Católica Porto Business School, João Pinto, and the closing by the pro-rector of UCP and president of the Porto Regional Centre, Isabel Braga da Cruz.
The "Ethical Leadership" survey is available here. It takes about ten minutes to complete, is anonymous, and the data collected will be treated with complete confidentiality.
