Universidade Católica Portuguesa, a member of the Transform4Europe Alliance, is opening applications for the T4EU Week "Communication for a Better Future", which will take place from 21 to 25 October 2024 in Katowice, Poland. The event is aimed at UCP undergraduate, master's and doctoral students and aims to promote the development of academic skills and intercultural interaction in an international environment.
T4EU Week will take place at the University of Silesia and will feature an agenda combining academic and cultural activities. During the event, students will take part in intensive courses focussed on topics relevant to their areas of study and communication. In addition to the classes, there will be activities such as guided tours, workshops and cultural events, fostering the exchange of experiences between participants.
The activities will begin on 21 October with an opening lecture by Dr Robert Rajczyk. The courses will take place in the mornings and will be complemented by socio-cultural activities in the afternoons, including visits to Katowice's historic centre, mindfulness workshops and a cooking competition. There will also be a concert at the Academy of Music and a visit to the Habsburg Palace in Pszczyna.
Students will be able to choose from seven courses in the areas of communication, business, education, gender equality, cybersecurity and the environment. Each course offers 3 ECTS, recognised in the UCP Diploma Supplement, and will include face-to-face and online components.
Applications are open until 30 September 2024 and must be submitted online. Students must fill in a form and submit a motivation letter in English, explaining their choice of courses and the impact of participating in the event. Selection will be based on the number of ECTS credits completed, voluntary work, interest and experience in the subject of the courses.
The results of the selection will be announced by 4 October 2024. More information is available on the official Transform4Europe page on the UCP portal, on the Transform4Europe page (www.transform4europe.eu) or by writing to t4eu@ucp.pt.
