Católica Porto Business School invites you to a dynamic masterclass within the scope of its courses in the area of ​​Sustainability - Postgraduate in Sustainability and Regeneration and Executive Course for Chief Sustainability Officer.

This masterclass will have the director of the Climate Strategy and Execution Department of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), Maria de Melo, and the director of the EBRD's Sustainable Financing Policy, Russell Bishop, as guests. The session will be entirely spoken in English and is aimed at students on Sustainability courses (CE Chief Sustainability Officer and PG Sustainability and Regeneration), alumni and current Executive Education students who are interested.

About Maria de Melo: with more than ten years of experience in international organizations, she currently works for the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) as Director of the Climate Strategy and Execution Department. Its work focuses on developing the renewable energy sector in the countries where the EBRD operates. Previously, he held positions at the European Commission and Deloitte. Maria has a degree in Economics from the Universidade Católica Portuguesa and a Master's in Political Economy from the London School of Economics.

About Russell Bishop: is the Director of Sustainable Finance Policy at the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD). He is part of the Climate Strategy and Execution Department. Russell oversees the design and implementation of the EBRD's sustainable finance approaches, including aligning all the Bank's investments with the Paris Agreement and how the Bank measures green finance. Before joining the EBRD, Russell led the Global Commission on Economics and Climate's low-income countries program as a senior researcher at the Overseas Development Institute; worked as a senior economist at the Global Green Growth Institute (where he collaborated with the Office of the Prime Minister of Ethiopia in preparing the country's national development plan); and served in the UK civil service, His Majesties Revenue and Customs, the Ministry of Justice and the Climate Change Committee.
