Graduate in Economics from the Faculdade de Economia da Universidade do Porto. MSc in Management with specialization in Finance from the same University. 

Lecturer at the Católica Porto Business School since 1995, teaching and coordinating undergraduate programmes in the areas of Management Accounting (2004 – 2014; 2017 onwards) and Management Control (2004 onwards). 

During this period and in the same subject areas, she also developed and taught courses in different types of postgraduate programs (Masters, MBAs and specialized programs) and supervised case studies and Master dissertations. 

Her professional experience, as a teacher, includes other scientific subjects, such as mathematics and microeconomics. 

As an invited lecturer, she has also taught at other faculties and institutions, such as the Lisbon School of Business and Economics, the Faculdade de Economia da Universidade do Porto, the Universidade Livre, the Universidade Portucalense, the Instituto de Estudos Superiores Financeiros e Fiscais and the Order of Certified Accountants  (former Portuguese Chamber of Certified Public Accountants).  She also taught at the Pontificia Universidade Católica de São Paulo in the MBA Atlântico, programme offered by the Católica Porto Business School. 

Additionally, she is a business consultant in management accounting, management control and finance. In this scope, she cooperated with the CEGEA – Centro de Estudos de Gestão e Economia Aplicada at the Católica Porto Business School, as well with the School´s Executive Board.

Furthermore, she was a consultant at the NORPEDIP - Sociedade para o Desenvolvimento Industrial S.A. in the field of the operations on venture capital and director at the Norcrédito - Sociedade de Investimento, S.A.. 

She was also developed financial studies at BPI - Banco Português de Investimento, S.A., namely, at the department of special operations for financial firms and being part of teams involved in the evaluation of companies that were subject of privatisation process.  

Moreover, she was the Director of the Department of Economic and Financial Studies at Crédito Predial Português bank (CPP).
