João Novais has a degree in Management and a Master in Finance.

Guest Lecturer at Católica Porto Business School, he also lectured at Nova‑Lisbon School of Business and Economics and at Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences.

Consultant in projects for external entities in several industries such as: footwear, textile, food and beverage, cork, banking, wood and furniture, industrial equipment, seaport, water supply and wastewater treatment, among others.

Has worked in audit, financial advisory, and as an hedge fund analyst. Also provided for legal advice in corporate valuation.

Research interests include corporate governance, mergers and acquisitions, corporate valuation, and portfolio performance.
