The Universidade Católica Portuguesa, through the Centre for Sustainable Finance of the Católica Lisbon School of Business and Economics and in partnership with the Católica Porto Business School, has launched the new online course "Introduction to Sustainability in Companies - Financial Perspective".
Unique in Portugal and focused on the importance of sustainability in companies' finances, the course is aimed at professionals from all sectors, with no need for previous experience, and has the support of the Fundação Santander. Free for the first 1,000 participants, the programme facilitates training and the increase of literacy in Sustainability Finance in Portugal.
Lasting two hours, it is the first in a series of educational programmes developed by the Center for Sustainable Finance in the area of Sustainability Finance, with the aim of supporting all professionals and companies interested in starting or strengthening their transition to a more sustainable economy.
In the course, participants will explore strategies for integrating sustainability into financial and business management, ensuring an understanding of their transition. There will be an opportunity to address the challenges and opportunities for companies and the current legislative framework. They will also be able to analyse how the financial markets are supporting the transition to sustainability, with an emphasis on sustainable finance, and learn how to start or improve the process of incorporating sustainability into business strategy, with a focus on competitive opportunities and access to finance.
Registration is now open and runs until 20 October, through Santander's Open Academy platform.
The course will be taught online and in Portuguese.
