The team, which included students from Católica Porto Business School and Escola Superior de Biotecnologia, institutions of Universidade Católica Portuguesa, came second in the National Final of the “O Meu Futuro Financeiro” competition, which Banco de Portugal and the CFA Society Portugal organised.
Vitória Afonso and Rafaela Melo, from the Management degree programme at Católica Porto Business School, and Carolina Mendonça and Francisca Sousa, respectively, from the Bioengineering degree programme and the Biomedical Engineering master's programme at the Escola Superior de Biotecnologia, presented their case study on financial literacy at the Money Museum in Lisbon.
This was an enriching experience for the students from the Universidade Católica Portuguesa in Porto. It provided a unique opportunity to deepen their financial knowledge and interact directly with experts in the sector.
In its debut edition, the “O Meu Futuro Financeiro” competition involved 124 teams of around 400 students from 27 higher education institutions.
Leading figures from the financial sector attended the awards ceremony, including the Governor of the Banco de Portugal, Mário Centeno, the Administrator of the Banco de Portugal, Francisca Guedes de Oliveira, the President of the CFA Society Portugal, Marcos Ribeiro, and ECO journalist Luís Leitão.
This wasn't the only team from Universidade Católica Portuguesa to reach the podium. The big winner of the competition's first edition was the team from the Católica Lisbon School of Business & Economics, once again reinforcing the institution's quality and academic excellence.
